Glamping Short Break
Travel between 1 May and 30 November 2021, and stay an extra night for FREE.
Experience Kangaroo Island's brand new Eco-Luxury tents at Seafront Holiday Park located in Penneshaw, whilst discovering the amazing east coast of Kangaroo Island.
Over three days explore the spectacular landscape and sample the delights of the local producers from their farm-gate shops, from honey to wine to seafood and more. Take the time to check out the island's amazing recovery with stunning shoots of colour sprouting from the vegetation following the devastating bushfires.
Head to Cape Jervis via the stunning Fleurieu Peninsula to board the SeaLink ferry for your 45-minute transfer to Kangaroo Island. On arrival, make your way to your accommodation, where you will be greeted with a complimentary welcome bottle of wine and dinner voucher.
Explore the Penneshaw township by foot, finishing with the unique Kangaroo Island Sculpture Trail. Keep an eye out for resident kangaroos and wallabies as you take in scenic lookouts, ancient vegetation and stunning ravine walls. Or take the car to visit Rob’s Sheep Shearing and learn about sheepdog mustering and yarding, sheep shearing, wool classing, hand spinning and the history of the farm in a fun and relaxed atmosphere.
Head to Dudley Wine’s cliff-top Cellar Door for wine tasting and lunch. Relax on the balcony with a glass of wine, view local artwork or try your luck at 'Golf across the Gully' driving range.
This evening use your dinner voucher and head to one of the many local restaurants. Maybe try Penny’s Restaurant where you sit high up on the hill and enjoy the magnificent views back to the mainland as you feast from their modern Australian cuisine featuring local KI produce.

Travel through Lashmar Conservation Park and stop at Chapman River, where a stroll down the beach will reveal the startling splendour of Antechamber Bay. Continue to Cape Willoughby and see South Australia’s first lighthouse, built in 1852 and rich in maritime history. Then make your way to False Cape Wines, where you can enjoy your included wine tasting flight and cheese board. In an idyllic setting nestled among the vineyards and gum trees, the hand-built cellar door offers a cosy and warm atmosphere no matter what time of year you visit.
Next up, head further inland and visit Clifford’s Honey Farm and Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery. Visit their farm-gate retail shops and pick up some great souvenirs. Learn how honey is extracted and see a glass beehive or join a tour to see how eucalyptus oil is extracted.

On the last day of your short getaway, visit the main town of Kingscote or drive down to Seal Bay Conservation Park and walk amongst wild Australian sea lions on one of the regular beach walks. If you are up for a big day, you could even head to Flinders Chase National Park to see the famous Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch.
Note: It is nearly a two-hour drive each way, so make sure you book a late ferry departure.
Head back to Penneshaw to meet the SeaLink ferry to travel back to the mainland at a time suitable to you.
