Rottnest Island Glamping Escape

Glamping Short Break

Take time to discover the natural wonders, scenic beauty and friendly wildlife on one of Western Australia's most famous islands - Rottnest Island.

Made famous for its friendly locals - the quokka - you will also learn about the history of the island on a half-day tour, and then spend the rest of your island getaway exploring on your own bike, with time to swim and snorkel in some of the beautiful secluded bays. Or simply relax by the pool while sleeping under the stars in glamping luxury.

Itinerary

This morning board the SeaLink ferry at Perth for your 90-minute scenic transfer to Rottnest Island. On arrival, your luggage will be transferred to your accommodation, and you can head into town to pick up any last-minute supplies from the Rottnest General Store.

Mid-morning join your Rottnest Island Bayseeker tour to visit all of the Island's must-see locations including the Wadjemup Lighthouse, Henrietta Rocks, the lookout point at Cathedral Rocks and Cape Vlamingh. Learn all about the colonial and maritime history of the island, plus there’s time to capture your own world-famous Quokka Selfie with some of the island’s most cutest inhabitants.

This afternoon check into your accommodation, and perhaps enjoy a sunset drink at the Poolside Bar, before heading to Pinky’s Beach Club for a memorable dining experience with stunning views of the beach and Bathurst Lighthouse.

Overnight: Discovery Rottnest Island, 2 nights

This morning pick up your bike and snorkel set from the Pedal & Flipper Shop and head out to explore the island. As there are no private vehicles on the island, cycling is the best mode of transport.

For the ride around the entire island (22kms), you would need between 3-5 hours, but shorter routes are available and you have the bike for 2 days so you can truly explore the island at your own pace.

Snorkelling is also something amazing to do on the island, with many calm bays and beaches to choose from - over 63 secluded beaches and 20 bays - you will be spoilt for choice. There are several snorkelling trails to follow, where you can see some unique marine wildlife and tropical corals in the beautiful underwater habitat.

This evening head into town and enjoy dinner at one of the restaurants located there. Both Thomsons Rottnest and Hotel Rottnest offer food with spectacular views, focussing on fresh locally sourced produce.

With so many beaches and bays to explore, you’re sure to need more time this morning to visit those that you missed yesterday. If you don’t feel like cycling, hop on the Island Explorer bus to discover somewhere new or head back to your favourite beach.

Alternatively, you may like to play a round of golf or some barefoot lawn bowls at the Karma Rottnest Golf Club. If you are looking for something more relaxing, there’s a range of treatments and massages at the Karma Day Spa.

Late this afternoon, return your bike and snorkel set and make your way to the SeaLink ferry terminal for your transfer back to Fremantle on the mainland.
