Day 1 - Depart Perth (L, D)
This morning make your way to East Perth Station to board the Indian Pacific. Settle into your Gold Service cabin, and enjoy the meals, beverages and facilities available to you. Later this evening, after dinner, you will arrive in Kalgoorlie where you can join your offtrain excursion to the Hannan’s North Tourist Mine. Learn about the Golden Mile and the thriving days of the gold rush period. Have your photo taken by a dump truck, and see the oversized ‘Super Pit’, the world’s largest single open cut mining operation which continues to recover the precious metal. At the end of the tour, return to the Indian Pacific to continue your overnight journey.

Day 2 - The Nullarbor Plain (B, L, D)
Early this morning the train will stop at a siding in Rawlinna, where you can disembark to watch the sunrise followed by a delicious breakfast. Continue your journey across the longest straight stretch of railway in the world, and stop at Cook, once a thriving railway town but now considered a ghost town. Spend the afternoon in your cabin watching the world go by, or head to the lounge car to make new friends and listen to the live entertainer.
Day 3 - Adelaide & Broken Hill (B, L, D)
This morning choose one of the tours in Adelaide. There’s a Central Market Progressive Breakfast, where you will meet stall owners, try tasty samples and discover the 140 year old food and culture centre of Adelaide. Or if sport is more your thing, enjoy a behind the scenes look at Adelaide Oval, discover the hidden secrets and relive celebrated moments of this iconic sporting facility. Then it's back on the Indian Pacific to continue your journey east. On arrival into Broken Hill, the off train experiences include the magnificent Drag Queens performing at the Palace Hotel, made famous in Priscilla Queen of the Desert. Or if local art is more your thing, you may like to visit Broken Hill's Regional Art Gallery, or see the much loved "Big Picture", housed in the Silver City Mint and Art Centre.
Day 4 - Arrive Sydney (B)
This morning you may like to enjoy an off train excursion in the Blue Mountains - visit the World Heritage Listed Blue Mountains, where you can take the scenic Prince Henry Cliff Walk, the perfect location to see the spectacular Jamison Valley and iconic Three Sisters. A light lunch at The Lookout Restaurant is included, before continuing your rail journey to Central Station. Alternatively you may prefer to travel straight through to Sydney.

Day 5 - Hop on Hop off Explorer
Today travel around Sydney Harbour using your Hop On Hop Off Explorer pass. Departing from Circular Quay or Darling Harbour, you can visit such places as Taronga Zoo, Manly, Watsons Bay, Luna Park, Shark Island or Barangaroo. Entry fees to some of these locations are an additional cost.
Day 6 - Sydney Harbour Captain’s Dinner Cruise (D)
This evening enjoy Sydney Harbour’s signature dinner cruise aboard the MV Sydney 2000. With guaranteed window seating, feast on a 3 course contemporary Australian a la carte menu, with the lights of Sydney as your spectacular backdrop. Live music and dancing will keep you entertained as you cruise for 3.5 hours around the Harbour.
Day 7 - Sydney to Melbourne
This morning depart Sydney on the XPT, and travel first class to Melbourne. In the early evening you will arrive at Southern Cross Station in the heart of Melbourne city and make your way to your hotel.

Day 8 - Magnificent Melbourne
This morning you will join a guided city walking tour and learn about Melbourne’s famous laneways and arcades. Explore the historic Royal and Block Arcades, and walk past the vibrant cafes and bars of Degraves Street and Flinders Lane, plus see the popular street art in Hosier Lane. Then board your comfortable coach for a tour past iconic landmarks such as the Queen Victoria Markets, St Paul’s Cathedral, Flinders Street Station and the Melbourne Cricket Ground.

Day 9 - Free day in Melbourne
Today is a free day to explore the sights of Melbourne. There are many day tours to choose from and a trip to Phillip Island to see the evening Penguin Parade is a popular way to spend the day. A journey down the picturesque Great Ocean Road to the famous Twelve Apostles is a fabulous way to see the spectacular coastline of Victoria. Alternatively, jump on a tram and head to St Kilda, the beautiful seaside suburb famous for its palm-lined boardwalk, fabulous old buildings, great restaurants, bars and cafes.
Day 10 - Melbourne to Adelaide
Board the Overland and settle into your Premium Service seat for the journey to Adelaide. Enjoy the changing landscape from your window while you are treated to top service by the crew. You'll arrive into Adelaide relaxed and refreshed late afternoon.

Day 11 - Adelaide City Highlights
Today you will join a half-day Adelaide city sights tour. Drive along Adelaide’s elegant cultural boulevard, North Terrace, home to the South Australian Art Gallery, Museum, Adelaide University and architecturally unique National Wine Centre.
Stop at the famous St Peter's Cathedral and Adelaide Oval, followed by a tour and tastings at South Australia's renowned Haigh’s Chocolate Factory.
Day 12 - Barossa Food & Wine Experience (L)
Today travel into South Australia’s premium wine region, the Barossa. Taste some premium wines and enjoy morning tea at Pindarie. Then it’s on to Maggie Beer’s Farm Shop, where you will hear all about Maggie’s story, and get to sample her entire product range. At Lambert Estate you’ll enjoy a structured tasting, and feast upon a gourmet two course lunch, before finishing the day at Barossa Valley Chocolate Company, where you will pair their wine with some of their chocolate.
Day 13 - Adelaide to Perth
Today fly home to Perth at a time suitable to you, having completed your fantastic rail holiday.
