Day 1 - Depart Perth (L, D)
This morning make your way to East Perth Station to board the Indian Pacific. Settle into your Gold Service cabin, and enjoy the meals, beverages and facilities available to you. Later this evening after dinner, you will arrive in Kalgoorlie where you can join your off train excursion to the Hannan’s North Tourist Mine. Learn about the Golden Mile and the thriving days of the gold rush period. Have your photo taken next to a huge dump truck, and see the oversized ‘Super Pit’, the world’s largest single open cut mining operation which still continues to recover precious metal. At the end of the tour, return to the Indian Pacific to continue your overnight journey.

Day 2 - The Nullabor Plain (B, L, D)
Early this morning the Indian Pacific will stop at a siding in Rawlinna, where you can disembark to watch the sunrise followed by a delicious breakfast. Continue your journey across the longest straight stretch of railway in the world, and stop at Cook, once a thriving railway town but now considered a ghost town. Spend the afternoon in your cabin watching the world go by, or head to the lounge car to make new friends and listen to the live entertainer.
Day 3 - Arrive Adelaide (B)
Early this morning arrive into Adelaide, and make your way to your accommodation. As check in is not until later in the day, drop your bags off and wander over to the famous Central Markets to explore the many food delights on offer. This afternoon, catch the tram down the Glenelg, a popular seaside suburb with a great selection of boutiques, cafes and restaurants.

Day 4 - Barossa Food and Wine Experience (L)
Sample some of the Barossa's finest wines and gourmet food that makes this wine region so special. Along with premium wine tastings and a gourmet two-course lunch, you will also visit the farm shop of Australia's much loved cook, Maggie Beer. You'll get to sample some of her range of celebrated food products, before heading off to the final stop of the day at the Barossa Valley Chocolate Company where you will taste homemade chocolates paired with wine.

Day 5 - Adelaide City Highlights
This morning you will head off on a half day Adelaide City Highlights tour. Drive along Adelaide’s elegant cultural boulevard, North Terrace, home to the Art Gallery, Museum, University and National Wine Centre. Stop at the iconic St Peter's Cathedral and Adelaide Oval, and enjoy a tour and chocolate tasting at Haigh’s Chocolates Factory (except on Sundays and South Australian public holidays, where a visit to the National Wine Centre is included as an alternative). Haigh's has been operating since 1915 and is famous for their premium chocolate making.
Or if you don’t want to miss the opportunity to see the beautiful villages in the Adelaide Hills, upgrade to the full day tour with expert commentary by a local guide. As well as seeing the main attractions of Adelaide, you will also get to experience the amazing views of Adelaide from Mt Lofty Lookout, stop off at the Beerenberg Farm Shop for some famous strawberries, jams, chutneys and sauces before you wander the cafés, craft shops and of course the famous German pubs in Hahndorf for beer tastings and afternoon tea.
Day 6 - Adelaide to Kangaroo Island (L)
Today you will spend the day immersing yourself in the pristine wilderness and nature of Kangaroo Island, where you will experience the island’s most popular attractions. Highlights include a:
- walk amongst a wild seal lion colony at Seal Bay
- delicious two course lunch
- visit Flinders Chase National Park and its iconic Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch.
It is a full day of touring, but to see this many sights in one day is definitely worth it!
Day 7 - Adelaide to Perth
Today depart Adelaide at a time suitable to you, or you may like to extend your stay and explore Australia’s largest and iconic river, the Murray River.
