Itinerary

This morning make your way to Sydney for your afternoon departure from Central Station on the Indian Pacific. Settle into your Gold Service cabin, and enjoy the meals, beverages and facilities available to you.

Overnight: Indian Pacific, 3 nights

This morning you may like to enjoy an off train excursion in Broken Hill. Visit Pro Hart’s gallery and see a wide selection of his signature paintings. Or head to the Miner’s Memorial, offering amazing views of the township, and respect those who lost their lives working the Broken Hill mines.

The Indian Pacific continues to Adelaide, where again you can choose from a tour to either the wine regions of McLaren Vale or the Barossa, or perhaps an exclusive crafted tour of the South Australian Museum to learn about fossil heritage and palaeontology across the Nullarbor Plain sounds more interesting. This evening enjoy a delicious dinner on the platform, prior to departing Adelaide.

Today travel across the longest straight stretch of railway in the world, the Nullarbor Plain. Take an off train excursion at Cook and learn about this once bustling railway town, but is now considered a Ghost Town. This evening enjoy canapes and drinks, followed by dinner under the stars on a siding near the remote township of Rawlinna.

Today travel through the picturesque Avon Valley. Named after the river that flows through it, keep an eye out for the wide range of birdlife and the Jarrah, Marri and Wandoo trees. Finish your rail journey with a delicious lunch, before arriving into Perth. On arrival in Perth, make your way to your accommodation and the rest of the day is free for you to enjoy the city at your leisure.

Overnight: Novotel Langley Hotel or similar, 4 nights

What better way to start your holiday than to take a leisurely river cruise to the amazing Swan Valley wine region.

Did you know that Perth is the only Australian capital city where you can explore a wine region by river?

You will travel upstream on the Swan River to Swan Valley. When you arrive, you will be welcomed at Sandalford Estate where you will be taken on an exclusive tour of the winery, followed by wine tastings and a delicious two course lunch. After a relaxing lunch the crew will provide live entertainment and tantalising desserts to keep you smiling during your return to Perth.

Enjoy the short stroll from the city centre to Kings Park, a popular spot with both locals and tourists. The park is filled with tall trees, stunning bushland, lakes and sculpted gardens. It contains the Western Australian Botanic Garden and is also home to the state’s War Memorial and the Flame of Remembrance. Plus, the views back over the Swan River to the city are magnificent.

Or if sport is your thing, join a tour of Australia’s newest state of the art stadium, Optus Stadium. Voted as the Most Beautiful Sports Facility in the World in the Prix Versailles 2019 international architecture awards, the multi-purpose stadium hosts a variety of sports and entertainment events. Wander around the precinct and stay on to enjoy one of the many restaurants or have a quiet beer at Australia’s largest pub, The Camfield - with 175 beers on tap, there’s sure to be one that takes your fancy!

Today you will meet the happiest little animal on earth, the quokka, on the Rottnest Island Bayseeker Package. Make your way to B Shed Victoria Quay in Fremantle to join your ferry to Rottnest Island.

Rottnest Island is Perth’s closest island paradise with amazing beaches and bays. You can spend time snorkelling, cycling, swimming, Segway or simply walk leisurely around at your own pace.

You will have time to explore the many beautiful spots and get your own smiling Quokka selfie before you join an afternoon coach tour of the island.

The coach tour will explain the colonial and maritime history of Rottnest Island. You will see some of the amazing flora and fauna, including seals, quokkas, and bird spotting, lakes and lighthouses, before meeting back up for the return voyage back to Perth.

Today depart Perth at a time suitable to you, or you may like to extend your stay and explore the city further.
