Day 1 - Depart Perth (L, D)

This morning make your way to East Perth Station to board the Indian Pacific. Settle into your Gold Service cabin, and enjoy the meals, beverages and facilities available to you. Later this evening, after dinner, you will arrive in Kalgoorlie where you can join your off train excursion to the Hannan’s North Tourist Mine. Learn about the Golden Mile and the thriving days of the gold rush period. Have your photo taken next to a huge dump truck, and see the oversized ‘Super Pit’, the world’s largest single open cut mining operation which continues to recover precious metal. At the end of the tour, return to the Indian Pacific to continue your overnight journey.

Day 2 - The Nullabor Plain (B, L, D)

Early this morning the train will stop at a siding in Rawlinna, where you can disembark to watch the sunrise followed by a delicious breakfast. Continue your journey across the longest straight stretch of railway in the world, and stop at Cook, once a thriving railway town but now considered a ghost town. Spend the afternoon in your cabin watching the world go by, or head to the lounge car to make new friends and listen to the live entertainer.

Day 3 - Arrive Adelaide (B)

Arrive into Adelaidein the morning and make your way to your accommodation. As check in is not until later, you can drop your bags off and wander over to the famous Central Markets to explore the many food delights on offer there. Visit Chinatown for lunch, or discover one of the many restaurants found on Gouger Street, offering a great range of cuisines from Asian banquets to Argentinian barbecues.

Overnight: Mercure Grosvenor Hotel Adelaide, 2 nights

Stop at the Beerenberg Farm Shop to purchase some of their delicious strawberry farm produce, and enjoy free time to explore the main street of this picturesque town.

Day 4 - Adelaide to Kangaroo Island (L)

Early this morning you will be head to Cape Jervis to board the ferry to Kangaroo Island. Visit Clifford’s Honey Farm, and enjoy a tour and taste some of their popular honey products, including their famous honey ice cream. Stop at Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery for lunch, before continuing on to Raptor Domain to see their interactive Birds of Prey display. You'll finish the day walking amongst the wild and playful Australian sea lions at Seal Bay - a very unique South Australian experience.

Day 5 - Kangaroo Island to Adelaide (B, L)

This morning you will travel to the most western part of the Kangaroo Island, and visit Flinders Chase National Park. Get up close to the iconic Remarkable Rocks and follow the boardwalk down to Admirals Arch, a natural archway formed in the rocks and used as a safe play haven for the Long-Nosed Fur Seals. After spending the day exploring the many other amazing sights and sounds of this pristine island, it's time to return to Adelaide for an evening reflecting on the highlights of your Kangaroo Island visit.

Day 6 - Adelaide to Mannum (D)

Around lunch time you will travel from your hotel to Mannum to meet the PS Murray Princess paddlewheeler. Settle into your cabin before enjoying a delicious dinner as you cruise down the mighty Murray River to your overnight mooring point at Caurnamont.

Day 7 - River Murray (B, L, D)

After a hearty breakfast, the Murray Princess will dock at Murray Bridge. Take a guided walk through the old Roundhouse, a significant historical building that served as a school, post office, church and council chambers in the early development of the town. Or go on a wildlife tour to Monarto Zoo, one of the largest open-range zoos in the world! Return to the Murray Princess in time for lunch and continue your journey uprier. After dinner you'll be entertained by the talented crew, before settling in to your comfortable cabin for a restful evening.

Day 8 - River Murray (B, L, D)

All ashore for a guided nature walk, to learn the secrets of the local flora and fauna. Then near Piggy Flat, you will join your 'Dragon Fly' flat bottomed discovery vessel for a wildlife tour, exploring the maze of the river and seeing the amazing birdlife up close. This evening the Captain and his officers host a spectacular Farewell Buffet Dinner - it's the perfect night to dress up and dance the night away.

Day 9 - Mannum to Adelaide to Perth (B)

Cruise back to Mannum, and after breakfast you will disembark and then head to Adelaide Airport for your flight back to Perth.
